DYMONDstrength Associate Tutor
Nathan is a qualified teacher, RFU Level 3 coach and an NSCA strength and conditioning specialist with a signigicant amount of experience in each field. Having gained an Honours Degree in Sports Science in 1996, Nathan joined the Lilleshall Sports Injury and Human Performance Centre as a Physiologist where he worked with many elite athletes from individual and team sports, but held a specific role as the Physiologist for England and Great Britiain Men's Hockey Team. In 2000 Nathan joined the England Hockey Performance Unit to become National Physiologist and oversaw both the Men's and Women's Senior and Junior Programmes. During this time Nathan was responsbile for the design and implementation of strength and conditioning programmes, acclimation training, fitness testing and monitoring the physical health of the athletes. In 2002, he joined Premiership Rugby Team Saracens as Strength and Conditioning Coach for their England Rugby Academy franchise designing, implementing and monitoring the physical preparation of U18 players through to those in the 1st team.
Having relocated to Devon for family reasons Nathan taught as a Lecturer in Sport within Further Education and gained his RFU Level 3 coaching award whilst maintaining his qualifications and passion for strength and conditioning. In recent years Nathan has coached at both senior and junior levels in rugby including the Devon U17 and U18 boys and is the current Head Coach for the RFUW South West Divisional Team and RFUW South West U18 UK School Games 7's Squad.
