Carl has extensive applied experience of working within professional sport, as both a Sport Scientist (Physiologist) and a Strength & Conditioning Coach.
Currently working for Northamptonshire County Cricket Club where he is responsible for the conditioning of 2 full-time professional and 3 age group teams.
Carl completed a PhD while working with Cricket Australia, which involved working closely with a number of their teams (T20, One Day, the Test Team, and the AIS Academy Team)as well as all six first class state sides (this also involved traveling both domestically and internationally (India x2). His thesis is titled: Elite cricket match and training demands and performance enhancement in hot/humid conditions. In 2010, Carl was presented with the Robert T Withers medal for sport science in Australian Sport. He has also benefited from working with a huge variety of elite athletes and teams (Meath GAA, Triathlon, Ice Hockey, Wellington Women’s Hockey) while being employed by two national sporting institutes (NZ and Australia) and in the private sector (Peak Centre).
